  • NOV. 5 –Today, Rep. Joe Pitts (PA-16) voted for H.R. 3548, a bill that would extend a new home buyer tax credit, allow expanded tax write offs for businesses and extend unemployment compensation. Rep. Pitts’ statement follows: “I remain concerned that the bill passed today extends a tax on businesses. However, this bill also contained important incentives to help families buy their first home and allow struggling businesses to write off more of their losses. We need to be doing everything we can to help the unemployed find new jobs and that means making it easier for employers to increase payroll. Risk-taking entrepreneurs and successful businesses will provide the jobs needed to pull us out of the recession.”
