Coming to Lancaster: Nancy Pelosi

January 8th, 2010 5:43 pm · 12 comments

Yep, you heard that right.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, will headline the Pennsylvania Democratic Party’s annual convention, being held at the Lancaster Host Resort Feb. 5 and 6. For two days, our mostly conservative neck of the woods will be the hub of statewide Democratic politics, as the party meets to endorse candidates for governor and U.S. Senate.

Can't wait to see this. It'd be as if Bill Ayers or someone was coming to town.

Wouldn't they do better to send someone who's actually popular with the American People? Pelosi hasn't really made any friends for herself in her tenure as Speaker...at least not around here.

I say they should send Bullwinkle. He's a stand up guy..

Yeah, and all you born and raised local Repubs who never got out can
blow it out your ear. Our heroes beat your heroes any day. Even in
November 2010. Y'all got nothin'! Except each other, and your bile.

Dude, I am one of the people who complained when the New Era ran the worst picture they could find of Hillary Clinton after she won NH primary.

And if you were half the real Democrat you think you are, you would AGREE with the comments about the TERRIBLE picture the paper chose to run! (And don't hurt yourself climbing down off that high horse, okay?)

Typical Lanc. County to judge someone by their looks.

I've done it too with Michelle Bachmann.

She got the bill through the house with a public option, with more people covered and, without the tax on good health insurance plans. She got Cap and Trade through. Now the White House is favoring the Senate bill and is pressuring her to work to advance that bill. Oh and the president took an extended European tour the last time an appropriations bill for Afghanistan came up, leaving the Speaker to do the hard work.

She put the conference committee behind closed doors only after Republicans did ridiculous things like having bills read in their entirety, waisting 7 hours in the process.

Like it or not, she'e probably the best Speaker of the House since Tip O'Neill.
