Today’s subject: former state Rep. Gibson C. Armstrong.

The state Senate has confirmed Armstrong to the board of the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority. The authority finances innovative clean-energy projects such as solar, wind, hydropower and geothermal through grants, loans and loan guarantees. Armstrong is the son of former Sen. Gibson E. Armstrong. The junior Armstrong held the 100th Legislative District seat for four and a half years, until 2006.
The 43-year-old Lancaster resident is the director of regulatory affairs in the mid-Atlantic region for BlueStar Energy Services. The Senate voted 47-0 Wednesday to approve Armstrong, who had been nominated for the position by Gov. Ed Rendell. Armstrong had previously served on the board, during his term as a legislator.
