Money Map: The 16th Congressional District Race

September 1st, 2009 3:41 pm · 4 comments

Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts, who will seek his eighth term in Congress next year, is raising more money than his challenger and has nearly five times as much campaign cash in the bank, finance reports show. But Democrat Lois Herr has raked in twice as much money from individual donors as Pitts, which she believes is a sign voters are enthusiastic about her third bid for the 16th Congressional District seat.

Here’s a map of the donations so far this year. Contributions to Pitts are marked in red. Contributions to Herr are marked in blue.

After he ran for office with a PROMISE to limit his tenure to five terms!

Joe Pitts has a proven record of broken promises and catering to special interests.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but after he retires he will collect three different pensions, all from the public chest, as well as free health insurance for life for himself and his family, and free nursing home care. Those are the ones I know about, there are no doubt more.
Pitts may agree these are not Republican values, if so let's see him give it back.

Nothing wrong with serving for many terms.
The problem is all the crap that comes with it.

...unless they ran for office with a promise to limit the number of terms they serve.

If Pitts finds it so easy to break that promise, how many others might he break?

This is expected from any politician. I do agree with you, Artie. He needs to keep his promise and/or run for another office, lol.
