‘I wouldn’t say we’re just like California’

Gov. Ed Rendell does “Morning Joe” on MSNBC. He said 1.) he doesn’t look at approval ratings (”Politicians should dedicate themselves to doing what they believe is the right thing.”) 2.) his proposed tax increases would cost Pennsylvanians only 70 cents more a day (or, he added, “about $4.90 a week — that’s one of those Big Mac meals”). On Monday, meantime, Rendell hinted that he “might soon take action to ensure that state workers get paychecks, contractors are compensated for work done for Pennsylvania and ‘facilities in danger of closing’ stay open, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. That would be a stopgap budget.
