Getting ready for McCain

September 8th, 2008 2:09 pm · 0 comments

A programing note: We’ll be liveblogging the rally at F&M on Tuesday being held by Republican presidential nominee John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin. That is, if we can find a place to park near the college’s Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. College officials said today there will be no spaces available on campus. Anyway, the action here starts at 3 p.m. I hope to see you then.

Bill Kiehl, a local campaign coordinator, says tickets to the event are gone.

Unfortunately due the exceptionally high demand, our
supplies of printed tickets for the John McCain-Sarah
Palin Victory Rally at Franklin and Marshall’s Alumni
Sports and Fitness Center are now exhausted.

However, we have tried to make provisions for all
who wish to see and hear Senator McCain and
Governor Palin to do so. There are always some
ticket holders who are unable to attend so we will
have a special line for Non-Ticket Holders at the
F&M Sports and Fitness Center. After Ticket Holders
are accommodated we will open the hall to Non-Ticket
Holders on a first-come first served basis until the
Fire Marshall shuts us down.

At that point there will also be an outdoor overflow
area with giant screens and speakers to accommodate
the overflow crowd without Tickets. Everyone will
be able to hear and see Senator McCain and Governor
Palin speak. While we cannot make any promises,
we will do all we can to have John McCain and Sarah
Palin meet and greet those in the overflow area and
maybe even shake their hands. So even if you do not
have a ticket you will have some opportunity to see
and hear our candidates during their visit to Lancaster.
My advice: Come early for best accommodation
whether you have a ticket or not.
