Speedways Ban Pols

Racing fans won’t see either John McCain or Barack Obama at NASCAR events in more than a dozen speedways across the country before Election Day, Campaigns & Elections reports today. The International Speedway Corporation, which owns major racetracks in both candidates’ home states of Arizona and Illinois, is implementing a firm policy that prohibits political candidates from campaigning in any capacity at their racing events.
