I’m always interested in new tech stuff, and a friend turned me on to something called Jott recently. You dial a number, talk to a computer and Jott will transcribe what you said into text and e-mail it to you. So I called and told the computer, “Ad Crable just ordered a sub with mayonnaise on it. Can you believe that?” So I got a e-mail moments later that said, “Add crable(?), just ordered Manny’s on her sub(?), do you believe that?”

Not bad.

I tried, “Barack Obama is beating John McCain by 6 percentage points in the latest Franklin & Marshall College Keystone Poll.” Jott transcribed it thusly: “Barack Obama is beating John McCain by 6 percentage points in the latest Franklin and Marshall College Keystone Poll.”

Very cool.
