Have some cake, dummy

Our story of the day today comes from The Patriot-News of Harrisburg:
Call it harassment - by cake.
That’s the accusation made against Angela Prince after a cake emblazoned with the message “You can’t fix stupid’’ was delivered Aug. 28 at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for a supervisor who fired her.
Derry Twp. police confiscated the cake and filed a harassment charge against Prince, a contractor who worked for a company maintaining medical equipment at the hospital.

Hershey Medical Ctr. is now going to get a lot of unwanted attention, which could have been avoided if this supervisor would have simply thrown the cake in the garbage. I guess the saying WAS right...."you can't fix stupid" |
BAG-17 9/7/07 11:43 AM | "It was the fact that she went into the Hershey Medical Center and paraded the cake around...
Parading without a permit, should also be added to the charges... |

Never know, it could have been poisoned. She should have trashed it.
People call the police over the stupidest stuff. It sure seems like society is becoming a bunch of big babies who want the police officers for their big daddies and put band aids on all their little ouchies. Good gracious this supervisor needs to toughen her hide.

I tend to agree, unless there was some other history here, like an extremely angry reaction when the cake purchaser was fired that could lead the cake receiver to believe this was going beyond a stupid prank and was approaching stalking or something like that. It doesn't sound like that's the case, but then again, the cake purchaser admitted to taking two days off after the firing to "cool off."

Lysol54 9/7/07 2:05 PM | I have to agree this whole thing is alittle over the top. but in todays world the things that people either would have just dealt with in the past or handled themselves are now being turned over to the authoritys. Terrorism? the government has used fear for the last 8 years do change the way people think. The '04 election wasn't about the important issues like taxes and such it was about gays getting married and abortion. While these things are important they hardly affect everyone and they are very emotionally charged subjects that people feel very strongly about one way or another. Who knows what the story was on teh firing? I mean hell if it was in a box it could have been a bomb or anything like that. I'm not saying its right or wrong but this is the world we created. |

You are right, that there might have been a "colorful" history between the two and the cake was the straw that broke the camel's back.
