Teen Weekend blogger Brandon Frese is a graduate of Cocalico High School. He is now a freshman at Penn State University at University Park.
What’s your favorite subject?
I really enjoy history and math, but I like all my courses.
What high school activities you were involved in?
National Honor Society, president of the SADD club, yearbook staff and multiple sports.
What was your favorite activity?
I enjoyed all of my activities; I don’t think I could pick a favorite.
If you could go back and change one thing about high school, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything. I loved every minute of my high school experience.
What are your plans for after high school?
After high school I will be attending Penn State at the main campus. I will be studying communications and majoring in public relations. I am really excited for the new opportunities that will come with Penn Sate.
Ten years from now, what do you hope to be doing career-wise?
I would like to be doing something in PR or advertising. I also would like to be coaching baseball and ice hockey for whatever school district I am living in.
What Web sites are earmarked as your favorites?
Myspace and The Weather Channel Web site. I like to know the weather.
What blogs do you like to visit?
I visit the Pennlive blogs about local sports because I played so many. That’s about it though.
What are your hobbies?
I like to watch movies, listen to music, drive with the windows down and loud music playing, and best of all hang out with my family and friends. I love trying new things as well.
What’s the best book you’ve read lately?
Brave New World
When you and your friends are planning something fun for the weekend, what’s at the top of your list?
Either going to a concert like Warped Tour or Bamboozle Fest, or just going to the mountains.
What’s your favorite place to eat/hang out?
I love to eat at Damon’s or Austin’s, and I like to hang out anywhere my friends are.
Who’s your favorite band or artist?
I love Brand New; they are my favorite by far.
What are the most frequently played songs in your iPod right now?
The most frequently played songs are Amber Pacific songs, because they remind me of summer.
How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as easy going and fun to be around. I like to meet new people and just have a good time.
If you could do one thing to make the world a better place, what would it be?
I would give more people the opportunity to better themselves through education.
People might be surprised to learn that…
The phrase “A man, a plan, a canal, panama” is a palindrome. Also, that I am very allergic to bees. It’s not fun.
What else do you want people to know about you?
I love animals and helping people. I can’t wait to go to college because I feel I’ve gotten all I can out of high school. I love spending time with my family, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. My extended family and my immediate family are so close it’s awesome, and we hang out all the time. Life is good.
