The Heitmann Atelier & Gallery just opened in December on the second floor of 104 W. Chestnut St., directly above Metropolis on Gallery Row. Cassi Heitmann is not only showcasing her own
bright, colorful works in this bright space but also is showcasing exhibits by other artists. This month, Lauren Pfeiffenberger (shown at left with one of her works) is presenting “place to call home,” works that, as her artist’s statement puts it, are “about yearning to find that sense of home that everyone, at their very core, needs.” Pfeiffenberger adds in her statement that she found her aesthetic inspiration “in passing landscapes as I traveled from one place to the next.” The paintings convey a sense of both movement and serenity, a feeling of cloudy skies and passing scenery reinterpreted in abstractions.
