Pecha Kucha: What’s on your screen?

chl-pecha-kucha.jpgPecha Kucha takes the familiar concept of a slide presentation and invites participants to make something very personal out of it — it’s almost like being able to see into someone’s thoughts. At the Creative House of Lancaster’s birthday party/gathering/Pecha Kucha night Thursday, June 19 at Building Character, participants presented 10 images each, with 20 seconds per image. The audience not only heard about creative projects (including the funny side of kitchen design), but heard about Eastern Market, why the proposed home-rule charter is a good thing, the limits of abstinence-based sex education and some Photoshop tips. One set of images focused on summer memories, another on family memories. The Happy Time Explosion Show plugged its July 11-12 shows (they’re going camping), and the Gasmaskerade organizers discussed that November event. Finally, this thought, from the Go International Design Unit: “The client will always ask you to make the logo bigger.” Above: Anne Kirby of the CHL gets the party started.
