Concert for Zimbabwe at Hempfield

May 15th, 2008 2:59 pm · 0 comments

The Free of Famine club at Hempfield High School will hold a benefit concert 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the school’s Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Bands scheduled to perform are Roy, Seraphim Red, Justin Baron and Armed Rhinoceros. The center is located at 200 Stanley Ave., Landisville.

Free of Famine is a non-profit organization that raises money through various fundraisers to aid the people of Zimbabwe in their struggle against hunger caused by a government land reform program that has essentially shut down the country’s once-thriving agriculture industry, according to a press release from the club. Hempfield faculty member Danny Walck is the club’s sponsor.
