spacecard2008front72pi.jpghalasey.jpgTurning storefront windows and unoccupied properties into temporary art installations: that’s the objective of “The Space — spacecard2008back72dpi.jpgWindows Exhibition” in Lancaster, starting Monday and running through April 20. It will involve 10 locations in or near downtown, including four locations on East King Street, two on North Queen Street, and sites on West Orange, West Chestnut, North Mary and North Prince. (Click cards at left for addresses and artists.) A local nonprofit organization for artists, The Space has been organizing these exhibits for several years now. The artists also have works on display at 219 N. Queen St. (between the RRTA bus depot and the Lancaster Museum of Art’s building); shown here at right is Samantha Halasey’s “As Fall Leaves.” A reception will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 18, and the show will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 12-5 p.m. Sunday during Art Walk weekend.

Tonight (Friday) at 7 will be the showing of “To Give is to Receive is to Give,” the documentary about M.P. Landis’s kidney transplant, at the Infantree Gallery, 15 N. Prince St.

And finally, the newest new moon ever.
