annex-24-exterior-1.jpgannex-24-exterior-2.jpgThe space at 24 W. Walnut St. (formerly Art is Negotiable) has new tenants – and one of them was the creator of two of the colorful collages that decorate the exterior of the building (shown at left and right). Ken and Vanessa Reisig opened the Annex 24 Gallery a week ago, and it will be having its grand opening (with live music) on First Friday tonight. Right now, the gallery is a showcase for their own work: Ken’s abstract and semi-abstract acrylic paintings and multimedia works, and Vanessa’s photography. annex-24-ken-reisig-2.jpg(Next month the Rumschpringe artist collective will be showing works.) The Reisigs moved here three years ago and, after doing some shows, including some down the street at Flowers by Paulette, realized they needed their own space. Gallery hours are Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and First Friday hours are 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

Speaking of Flowers by Paulette, tonight’s show will be “Graphic Imagination: Works of Robert Hammer.” Hammer’s black-and-white pen-and-ink works feature merry-go-round horses, dragons and comic book-style narratives.
