More than 100 out-of-state and an unknown number of in-state partygoers were cited Sunday after the event was cut short following the drowning of a city man Sunday morning. District Judge Robert Carl Jennings III set the fine and costs for all of those charged at $1,051, the maximum allowed by the law.

Law enforcement & judicial system gone wild. Nothing new here.

$1,051 fine for revealing the ignorance of Harrirsburg parks dept.? Six previous campouts. Shuttle boats, for crying out loud. Zero trouble in six years is an accomplishment not matched by some legit functions.

ALCOHOL KILLS. Makes me wonder what substance the "manufacturer" was making that earned a 2 million bail.

Wow harrisburg just gets more bizzare with each passing day. Steven Reed is a clown and his city is a joke. Give me a break.

This district justice is the joke. These fines should not be upheld on appeal, it's clearly scapegoating - as whirlwind alluded to.

If they were there all night, what did they do with waste??? Here are some general rules for using Susquehanna trails and islands. There are more.

While the individual "cathole" technique (a small hole 6" to 8" deep) is acceptable in most backcountry areas, this method is not appropriate on the River Trail because of the characteristics of the river islands (flooding, small size, etc...)

$1,000 seems ok. Inflation, you know. VA just raised speeding tickets o $1,000.

I know people who have attended this party in the past. There is absolutely know way the city did not know about this party. As mentioned, they had boats taking people back and forth. Where do all these people park? I actually applaud the city for allowing this function to go on in previous years without interfering. It was a good old fashion party right out of the '70s. No worrying about security, insurance, permits or other red tape. Just people, alcohol, drugs and a sound system. Party 'til you fall down and then just sleep there. Maybe if more people did this every once in a while, so much of this country wouldn't need to be on prozac 24/7.
