So Drudge links to a The Hill story talking about how Californians’ view of Nancy Pelosi has worsened, with only 34 percent saying they approve.
I’m no Pelosi fan, but reading the story I had the same reaction as I did a few weeks back when, at a Joe Pitts town hall, one person said they were angry about what Pelosi was doing and that she needsto listen to them!
No, she doesn’t.
News flash: Pelosi doesn’t represent central Pennsylvania. Neither does she represent all of California. She represents one district, her district.
And so the only number that matters is whether people in her district approve of her performance. And her district is overwhelmingly Democratic; and the Hill story doesn’t even invoke her district.
None of the rest matters.
Whether people outside of her district - or people here in central Pennsylvania - approve of Nancy Pelosi matters about as much as whether liberal San Franciscans like Joe Pitts.
