This is the Rubinoos, a Bay-area band circa 1979, collected on the magnificent Rhino compilation Poptopia: Power Pop Classics of the ’70s (there’s also an ’80s and ’90s version). This is guileless pre-new wave stuff, when boys still wanted to go steady with girls.
