Another thing we ‘feel’ to be true

September 29th, 2009 10:35 am · 12 comments

Did you know you can’t even say the pledge of allegiance in school anymore!

It’s true - Fox News tells me so!

And so you see how this works, when conservatives “know” something in their “gut” to be “true.”

Fox tells us that kids are being prevented from saying the pledge! And this comports with your “gut feeling” that something’s wrong with America, and it’s all the liberals’ fault… thus, you “know” the liberals are preventing children from saying the pledge of allegience!

Where’s the actual proof? You don’t need no stinking proof; you “feel” it to be true.

And therefore it is!

I was watching when Guilfoyle said that and was taken aback. She later adds something about "saying the pledge in the normal form", which I take to mean as a reference to Michael Newdow's crusade to take "under God" back out of the pledge. Yes, stupid people will hear this and buy it completely. Others might look it up and form their own opinions regarding both the issue itself and Guilfoyle's accuracy on certain topics.

Those of you with children in school, ask them if they say the pledge daily and post your results.

Or maybe some could set up a "vote poll" : My child recites the pledge daily in school: Yes or no.

It is said at my children's schools daily. However, student participation ranges from standing and reciting meaningfully to not standing at all and acting like a clown while it's being recited.

I personally think we should remove the word "indivisible" until we all learn to stand shoulder to shoulder and take our country back from the government. Nothing good can possibly come from the way we are divided in our ways our thoughts and the way we shudder when the government says, "sit down and shut up".
There are way too many thumb suckers sitting in corners and standing in puddles of pi$$ out there in freedom land. This country needs to "man up".

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands.
Undivided, courageous and without apprehension". mad.gif tank.gif

I'm sorry to report the Left has joined with the Right in the "Things we know to be true" madness.
We are so boned.

You got that right, sister. Stranger times 'a-coming. Don't put on your seat belt, because you may want to jump off the ride at any given point. Damn those Chinese and their freaky curses!

My children say it daily in school, and it is said respectfully. (They also say the Morning Offering, which is permitted at their school and is also said with respect.)

What is the Morning Offering?

Very interesting that Gil just posted this. I was horrified the other day to see a poll on Facebook "Should the Pledge of Allegiance be returned to schools?" — and people were freaking out, lighting the torches, grabbing the pitchforks!

It just doesn't take much at all (and certainly not much based in fact and reality) to get the mobs risin' up these days. People are so freaked out about "THEIR country" being taken over that they don't bother doing research on the truth — they're so READY to believe anything like this. Besides, even if they wanted to do some factfinding, they don't believe anything they read in the "mainstream media" (you know, the "MSM"). So there are no "facts" anymore. Nothing to use as even a basis for discussions, no matter what your basic political inclinations are.

I think we have a serious problem in this country... I'm starting to worry about where the tipping point is.

It's a Catholic prayer, said in the morning. PM me if you have more questions.
