Two sides of the street

From a Lancaster Bureau of Police press release this morning, about a shooting that took place on North Ann Street at 2:47 a.m.:

The victim, a city resident, was interviewed at the hospital and was inconsistent with his account of the shooting. The victim’s account did not match that of witnesses in regards to many details, including the location of the shooting. The account provided by witnesses was further corroborated by footage from Lancaster Safety Coalition cameras in the area, which captured images of the aftermath of the shooting. This video footage verified the travels of the gray car used to transport the victim from the scene.

Emphasis added.

Then this, from Naked Capitalism, on how there has been so little protest “the face of rape and pillage by the moneyed classes”:

In our total information society, protesting has high odds of getting one’s mug in a video that could come back to haunt you. An arrest would show up in a background check. What a great way to keep the peasantry in line.

Pretty much sums up what we’ve been arguing about all week, no?
