What in the world is going on up in Lititz?

A former candidate for Lititz mayor was arrested today for allegedly having a relationship with a 12-year-old girl.

Gregory J. Nies, 52, of 148 S. Spruce St., Lititz, was charged by borough police with aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and corruption of minors.

Police said Nies was charged based on allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with the then-12-year-old girl in 2002 through 2003. He would have been 46 years old at the time.

Innocent until proven guilty, but - if true - really, what is going on up in Lititz? All the dalliances up in the school district, now this?

Whether or not the cluster of problems that have been reported on in the Lititz/Warwick area constitute something out of the ordinary - though I think they might - at the very least, all of it gives the community a horrible black eye, and certainly makes it the butt of local jokes. But if I’m a parent in the area, I’m really beginning to wonder if there isn’t something more to all this than random incidents.

Ok, this is getting a little bit crazy now. I mean why is it always lititz.

Am I right in thinking this only started in the last 3 years where there was this wave of people getting caught in this?

We also had the whole racism issue. At this point I think maybe we do need to dig a bit deeper.

i think it made them forget that the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. thus far, on 3 or 4 threads gil, reagan republican, and myself mentioned that. the rest were too busy having their chain yanked.
