Queer fears

Bingo:

Is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal?

Why is it, do you think, that some of the most vocal opponents of “Teh Gay” often turn out themselves to harbor the tendencies? If you desperately do not want to feel that way but do feel that way - and can’t do anything to lessen the physical attraction - you are indeed going to be terrified and perhaps furious. And so lashing out against it becomes a way of lashing out at, denying your own tendencies.

Society must regulate it, in other words. Because you realize you can’t be relied upon to regulate yourself.

ROTFL....Using your logic and words, Gil, does that mean you harbor “wing-nut” tendencies?

If you desperately do not want to feel that way but do feel that way - and can’t do anything to lessen the “wingnutness” in you - you are indeed going to be terrified and perhaps furious. And so lashing out against it becomes a way of lashing out at, denying your own tendencies.

One way to do what Gil is describing is to join a conservative political or religious organization. Mark Foley, Larry Craig and Ted Haggerty are only recent examples. I'm sure there are many more.

Yes but should conservative be allowed to get married or would that destroy our definition of drive by marriages.

Cute. Deflect all you want. The logic applied by the researchers in this scenario does not apply to all scenarios. Are you saying a person with arachnophobia is denying he is really a spider?

It doesn't matter. Your only concern was trying to make Gil look stupid, regardless of how illogical your post was. Too bad all you did was make yourself look stupid.

I'll admit that was a very sly turning of the tables on ol' Gil, but c'mon, sexual orientation is way different than political orientation. One is controlled by the big head, and the other....

Anyway. Show me political arousal, or political fetishes, or political porn, or even political self abuse. Or how about political stuff that goes on behind closed doors. Wait that sounds like Alaska politics.

Nah...sounds like any politics around budget time. Has a natural tie-in as well. The politicians talk budget and the rest of us get screwed.... tongue.gif

What a ridiculous theory........foolish and misguided like that stupid myth forwarded by some in the gay community that EVERY male has had a homosexual fantasy at one time or another during their life........NAH! Cant say that I have, but that doesn't make me a homophobe.....I just happen to be only attracted to women.

Gil, what it comes down to is those particular politicians want to get elected in conservative districts so they play to the constituent's conservative values. I honestly think if they are representing those folks, they should represent those values, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Plenty of it goes on right here in Lancaster County. How do you think the politicians and plutocrats get away with all of the things that they do? For that matter, how do the politicians and plutocrats THINK they can get away with all of the things that they do?

I invite you to attend you local city/borough/township/county board/commissioners meetings several times in a row. I promise, it won't take you very long at all to realize just how much political stuff goes on behind closed doors. You will probably witness at least some political fetishes in the process!

Absolutely, dude. I'll grant you that. I used to be a winger when I was young and clueless, so I know how wingers think. When they do.

But when it comes to sex in general, there's plenty of hypocrisy to go around.
