Dissents of the day

Good amount of feedback to this weekend’s bit “Is the system also responsible?” that went along these lines:

I am a conservative and believe that the “free market” is the reason our nation is great. But, the pendulum does swing and the big business guys have pushed it too far!  We all rode it and enjoyed the ride. I suspect you did too.

Now, several very liberal Democrats (e.g., Ms Speaker of the House) have gotten the pendulum going in the other direction and are are pushing as hard as they can –towards Socialism.  As it swings wildly, we all (and especially our news media) must grab on and try to stabilize it.

I want to believe that President Obama understands the above, and will not allow the misguided Congress to take us too far left, indeed where the pendulum flies off its bearings.

That’s absolutely a legitimate concern. What we see now is a necessary correction, but perhaps the pendulum will go too far in the other direction - at which point Republicans grab ahold of it and bring it back the other way. Such is the beauty of our system.

Then there was also this:

Rush Limbaugh makes more sense to alot of Americans than this so called system that you say is responsible for this crisis. Is this new system that Obama wants where we “responsible” mortgage payers pay not only our mortgages but the “irresponsible” payers ones too? Judges can reduce the rates of the bad mortgage “losers” so our kids can pay higher rates to make up the difference? Is this the “new” system you want? Mr. Smart I’ll take the old system with warts and all.  Rush was on the mark . The truth hurts.

I’m taken aback at the naked hatred for their fellow Americans that conservatives such as this exhibit.

Buncha losers.
