And so now GOP chairman Michael Steele is the latest conservative sycophant to go running to Rush, begging for forgiveness.
Is it me, or is your Republican Party becoming a one-man show here - a veritable cult of personality, in which Limbaugh indeed calls the shots, and none may cross Limbaugh?
Pretty Stalin-esque.
I know your anger
I know your dreams …
Steele’s problem here is that he realizes that certain diseases have a higher approval rating than Rush, and Rush’s comments in recent weeks only make him seem more extreme to the broad mass of American society - and if the Republican Party is going to peel off any of those votes, as it must, Steele has a vested interest in downplaying Rush’s comments.
But he can’t.
Good good good.
Update: Sullivan:
It’s Rush’s party now. So why shouldn’t he run for president in 2012? Make Palin his veep - and be done with it.
Dear Lord: I don’t ask for much. Do I? But this would be Christmas, a birthday present, Easter and the lottery all rolled into one. I’ll be good - I promise.
Update 2: Via John Cole:
I’ll take 10, and start slapping them on lampposts.
