Amen Kate. Sarah Palin isn't news anymore she should be left alone.

Sarah Palin was the perfect target for the angry left--as an Evangelical Christian who kept the defective 'problem' baby and supported her daughter's through her unwanted pregnancy made she was the perfect vile enemy of the frustrated left. Plus she is actually attractive and has an attractive husband and family and strong intact marriage. Unlike Hillary, the former Poster Child for what it means to be a woman (pro-choice, 'victim' of a philandering powerful man, marginal Christian at best). They were trapped by their own hippocracy and flamed even more because of it!

She validated every little bit of self hate the feminists have for themselves and threw them into a frenzy.

And, while it was impossible for the Press to attach Obama due to his race and the possibility of having important viewers and readers offended (If Jesse Jackson wanted to castrate Obama, that was ok with them but they weren't going to have any part of it), it was easy to throw Palin under the bus because race trumps sex (and age) in our current society.

I am disgusted by the ongoing energy being thrown at Palin and women like her by association. She's a smart, intellectually strong, unusually principled woman who is able to juggle life and family under lots of pressure. That should be enough.

The dumping she is receiving from the McCain aides says lots more about them, their loyalties, and character than anything about Sarah Palin!

Leave her alone. Enough is enough. So much for room in the tent for everybody exposing the amazing double standard of the press and the Left.

She is an American patriot and we have room for everybody in our tent (yeah, right).

I concur with Kate and Hope. Also registered a complaint that Marv Adams will recieve via e-mail concerning Gil Smart compromising the integrity of Lancaster Newspapers and Lancaster Online. That big red “moron” pasted across Palin’s face at the beginning of his “Smart Remarks” this week, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Enough already.

The "moron" on the Sarah Palin vid was the last straw for me.

I hope not only do people stop COMMENTING on this foul bigot, but that people stop even reading it. When both columns consistently read ZERO on TalkBack, maybe they will give him the hook.

You have got to be kidding...first that "that should be enough"...for what...to be one heartbeat away from president? and secondly that you think these are her attributes, and these 'attributes" cause some sort of jealousy among liberal women..The reason the SNL jokes and skits work is because there is some truth to them. Just like this joke about GW gets laughs..

Three Brazilian Soldiers
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

Sarah Palin is George Bush in a skirt...which is why the evangelical right loves her and the left is still concerned/upset and talking about her.

I guess someone else most have said "the left is still concerned/upset and talking about her."

As far as a boycott, if there were one, is really none of your concern. You keep reading and agreeing with his posts. Continue to support Mr. Smart, a journalist who posts opinions, such as, did military intentionally murder their own soldiers because these soldiers wrote an op ed for the NYTs. That's the type of journalist you defend, someone who makes scandalous, completely unsubtanited, completely absurd, and absolutely bigoted posts.

First of all, Pericles, the "opinion" you just mentioned is in the form of a question. Opinions are usually statements.

There's a difference between posting a blog and writing a non-op-ed for the newspaper. When writers for the paper post a blog, they are not being journalists, they are being bloggers. Investigative journalism is much different than blogging, just as it is much different than writing opinion columns. LNP employs Gil to be an investigative journalist AND an opinion columnist, and they rightfully hold him to two very different standards to accomplish these completely separate tasks.

And for all of you complaining about the "big red moron" plastered across Palin's head, do you really think Gil is responsible for the graphics in the video? Do you think he edited the video? Did he write the music, too? Give me a break. The producer/editor's name is Paul Franz. It says so in the credits at the end of the video. If you want to complain about somebody, it should probably be him. I'm pretty sure Gil did nothing but provide the spoken words, most of them lifted from the blogs he's already posted.

Great Teacher,

Thank you so much for the education about journalists. I had no idea. I assumed common decency and just a tiny bit of integrity was required of a journalist like Gil Smart. So I'm very glad that you educated me and set me straight. Now I know.

And you're also right about that big red moron on the video. Gil didn't put it there. Just the same as a video you might post, with cuss words scrolling across the screen. You didn't put it there.

Some journalists might use some discretion. But you already explained how that really is irrelevant to Gil Smart. So you're right again.

There is evidence that some of the Palin smearing is originating from the Romney camp. The Gil Smart contingent will of course pick up on it to show how clever they are.
As the Obama team selects cabinet and White House staff positions the competition for Press Secretary grows ever more fierce as hopefuls try to out do one another by trashing Sarah Palin.
The sources of these smears are three fold:
The Obama campaign, who know how much her selection did to revive the moribund McCain campaign.
They don't want to face her in 2012.
McCain's primary opponents who know they will have to compete against Palin next presidential election cycle.
And the afore mentioned pundants looking for their 15 minutes.

Spot on! I missed the "moron" label because when I scan the headlines of Smart's opinion pieces I don't see anything worth reading and move on. It sounds like something a seventh grader would do but here he is, on staff at the paper. It speaks for itself really, so I'll refrain from further comment.
My biggest problem with it is that it distracts from discussion of the very left of center staff the president-elect is hiring. I'm watching for the tax-cutter Barak Obama promised He will be as president. He told us all about the size of the deficit during the campaign so the excuse that it was worse then He thought won't fly with me.
The question is, will the Congress and the new president be able the get their job approval ratings anywhere close the Palin's job approval rating as the governor of Alaska? Will Rendell get that kind of approval rating? What's Gil Smart's approval rating?

It's 2011. Unemployment is at 12.5%. The U.S. auto industry is a memory. We are facing terrorist attacks both real world and online. The international community can not admit they were wrong about him but is wondering who is Obama? Why was he elected? What's wrong with America?
Gas is at $5.20 per gallon. The green industry employment incentive plan hit snags due to Democrat Congresional infighting. Income taxes are at a high, profit gains tax are high, no one wants to invest in business or the future. Mortgages are at 16%. Corruption is an all time high all the way down to the community grass roots level, where decision are made about education.

What is Gil the Shill writing about? Why Sarah Palin's 2008 appearance on Saturday night live. No, the Katie Couric interview. We'll just make believe she was stupid and everything will be ok.

There was not a Conservative thing about the GWB administration -- except the lies he told when he called himself Conservative and told Conservatives he lived by Conservative principles -- right before he began spending us into oblivion, expanding government, and sticking his/our nose into the whole world's business, NONE of which a true Conservative would EVER have done.

But, Rev you have to admit Gil the Shill can't let go. The hate he has for the right is ingrained in his day to day world so he can't stop the un original regurgitaton of the lefty media's still trying to get a laugh.
Here is some original musings from Camille Paglia, who writes for Salon - a very liberal, intellectual site. Paglia is a feminist, libertarian, is OK with Legalized prostituition and recreational drug use among other things.

She has the guts to tell like it is. Gil the Shill should look at her opinions on how he treated Palin by posting other jerk's work. Which makes him a, ah.... jerk. She truly points out the achilles heeal of libs adn lefties..

While you are at it, check out her opinions of Bill Ayers and company.

Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology -- contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.

Controversial characters attract interest. A big part of picking Palin to run was to attract interest. The interest will continue for some time and if she runs again, then she'll certainly invite it. Comedy shows need material about things that everyone is familiar with. There's still plenty of people out there still joking about Clinton.

Yup. The Palin pick provided fodder for the news media and energized the Repub base. Just read an article by David Brooks (intel 11/12 A8) where he discusses GOP Traditionalists and Reformers. He's saying that Traditionalists want to regain power within the party, return to its core ideas, and rally behind Palin. He also predicted the party will experience more defeats while doing so until they get back in touch with mainstream America.

The election showed her to be smart and capable but not well informed. She showed lack of depth. I agree with nothing she says but she can have a real future if she will take some time to learn and garner more depth she has charisma looks and a strong republican base. But to get beyond the base she will need more and that was lacking this time around. But give her time. She will be back.

But, Rev you have to admit Gil the Shill can't let go. The hate he has for the right is ingrained in his day to day world so he can't stop the un original regurgitaton of the lefty media's still trying to get a laugh.

So blogging about Palin 3 days after the election means Gil "can't let go." Old news huh? Sorry, not buying it. If he's still blogging about Palin after Obama is in office, assuming there's no mention of her in the MSM for some other ridiculous thing she's done, then I'll say he can't let go. Until then, let's keep making fun of the crazy lady who thinks Jesus walked with dinosaurs.

Only an "Obummer" for some: Bushies and Company.

For most Americans, it's welcome change:
Smart ideas coming from a smart president elect.

Imagine that. Smarts in the White House.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

It really is time to boycott Gil Smart.

I am taking the pledge. Cancelled my Sunday News subscription. And I will not even be clicking on to READ anything he posts online.

The "moron" on the Sarah Palin vid was the last straw for me.

I hope not only do people stop COMMENTING on this foul bigot, but that people stop even reading it. When both columns consistently read ZERO on TalkBack, maybe they will give him the hook.

I wholeheartedly agree. It has been said that Sarah Palin went rogue. Smart makes the term rogue look like tameness. He needs to have some of his wind knocked out of his sails. Integrity is not one of his bettr attributes. dry.gif
