At the ballot box

No line by the time I got there ate 8:30, though it was steady - steadier than I’ve seen it. The guy whom I usually chat on election day said that when then opened at 7 a.m., there was a line of 100 people, stretching around the block.

Hearing similar things from colleagues, many of whom voted a bit earlier and stood in significant lines. People are fired up to vote this year, and I suspect that’s the case not just here in Lancaster County, but across the country.

People are definitely fired up. I arrived at my precinct about 20 minutes before the polls opened and was 15th in line. By the time the doors opened, I would estimate the line to be about 65 people total. I'm relatively new to the area, but poll vets said it was never like that before. I chatted with a number of people around me and we all were a little disappointed... everyone I spoke with wanted to be the first in line to vote for Obama! (me included).
