The future’s so bright…

…I gotta find me some shades.

Via Pastor Dan, Focus on the Family - Dobson’s organization - tells us what will become of the U.S. by 2012 unless you follow God’s mandate to vote Republican:

Many of our freedoms have been taken away by a liberal Supreme Court and a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate, and hardly any brave citizen dares to resist the new government policies any more.

Lots ‘o Bein’-Overrun-By-Teh-Dreaded-Queers stuff; but yer not even allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance in Obama’s Amerika!

Public school teachers are no longer free to lead students in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States. The 9th U. S. Court of Appeals heard a new challenge to the phrase “under God” in the Pledge, and, as it had in 2002 in Newdow v. United States Congress, Elk Grove Unified School District, et al. held the wording to be unconstitutional. Now the Supreme Court has upheld this decision.

O Lord deliver us from Teh Lib’rulz!

Obama be takin’ our guns away! We got porno on the TeeVee all hours of the day and night! And - get this - Obama “has been reluctant to send our armed forces to any new overseas commitment”!

O, Lord, if only we had a good pious Republican to get us involved in any and all warz!

Iran has somehow destroyed Israel and forced it to cede all kinds of territory, even tho Israel has more than 200 nukes - but Obama’s Evil Lib’rul Magic made ‘em disappear!

He even brung criminal charges against the God-fearin’ Bush administration!

The agenda of the ACLU, the agenda of activist judges in their dissenting opinions, the agenda of the homosexual activists, the agenda of the environmental activists, the agenda of the National Education Association, the agenda of the global-warming activists, the agenda of the abortion-rights activists, the agenda of the gun-control activists, the agenda of the euthanasia supporters, the agenda of the one-world government pacifists, the agenda of far-Left groups in Canada and Europe – all of these agendas were there in plain sight, and all of these groups provided huge support for Senator Obama. The liberal agenda was all there. But too many people just didn’t want to see it.

Didn't see anything about 'Queers' in any of the writings you refer to - do you have a problem we don't know about?

What a waste you are.

You don't read very well. Might explain why you don't think very well, either.

No, went back and re-read it. The word 'queer' was never used. I think just fine. I think you are an !profanity!, for example.

Got a problem with that?

I suppose you don't know that homosexual and queer are synonymous in most circles.

So is n_gger and black, in most circles, primarily African American circles. You're saying that is acceptable?

Wow. You really need a course in basic logic.

No, actually I taught it for three years while attending university in Cambridge. Used Irving Copi's book. Care to hear about categorical syllogisms?

I'm illustrating a blatant double standard here. What if SNL did a skit on Michelle O as a crackhead mother, and the O kids as bastard children of prison inmates, and how they can't wait to move in the White House and change the name to - oh - Black House? That could be done with a huge amount of humor - remember "In Living Color"? They did this kind of stuff all the time. Think we'll ever see it on NBC? Right.

But you wouldn't see the humor there, would you? But you see it as parody when it attacks Sarah Palin and her special needs child.

Someone tell BigStew to hit the ignore button. This is gonna get ugly.

OK, MTWPRage. Let's recap.

First, you responded to Gil's blog, with the only way you could think to insult him, by trying to make a lame joke about his thoughts on queers, claiming the articles he referenced didn't actually say anything about queers. You obviously just skimmed those articles, because they specifically mentioned gay marriage and the homosexual agenda.

When I pointed this out to you, you went back and actually read the articles in their entirety and found that I was right and you were wrong. But you can't possible admit this, so you decide to make it a game of specifics. The articles didn't use the word 'queer' anywhere, you say. This is entirely true, and the lamest way you could think of to save face. I didn't buy it, so I reminded you that queer and homosexual are synonymous, whick you obviously already know.

At this point you change the topic to say that the 'n' word and black are also synonymous, pointing out this is true primarily in African American circles, and then deduce that I must believe it is acceptable to use the 'n' word. Well, to many blacks, it is acceptable --in their own circles. Not sure what your point was there.

But I do know that anyone who claims to have taught logic knows if Q = H, and B = N, it does not mean I believe it's okay to say N.

I also know that SNL's New York Times sketch, while not funny, makes fun of The New York Times, not the Palins. Your proposed sketch, also not funny, just makes fun of the Obamas and no one else. There is no double standard to speak of, just your doublespeak.

Now take a deep breath, count to ten, try not to blow a gasket, and do your best to refute my recap using actual logic and without changing the subject.

Dobson and his fanatics are a danger to my rights. I absolutely reject a bible-based government. I absolutely reject ANY government based on one religous edict.

The Republican base is so rooted in fear that they are losing their collective marbles. They live in America so they have the freedom to believe and worship as they choose but I say leave me out of it.

Dreck. You didn't get my point from the start, so I'll stop this thread now.
