So via Paul’s liveblog, I see where Palin hit on the “Obama is a socialist” theme at today’s rally at the Clip, echoing McCain’s radio address.

But then she blames the Wall Street mess on greed and predatory lenders. Because she and McCain are apparently going to build a better capitalism, one without greed. And the bailout package whereby the government gives money to banks - that’s something other than socialism.

It must be hard being a right-winger, and keeping all the fundamental contradictions straight in yer head.

But the Pavlovian base responds on command. Socialism! Teh horror! Because, you know - even if I haven’t been to the dentist in three years because I don’t have dental coverage, I don’t want dental coverage if it means people earning $250,000 per year are going to have to pay one penny more in taxes.

Wingers, apparently, are very easily frightened that someone might take what they got, even when they’ve got nothing.
