Palin abused her power

Troopergate investgation results released:

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report by a bipartisan panel that investigated the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

The inquiry looked into her dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, who said he lost his job because he resisted pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor’s sister. Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

The report found that Palin let the family grudge influence her decision-making even if it was not the sole reason Monegan was dismissed.

Not particularly surprising, though Palin’s fans will insist that the bipartisan probe was “biased.” Probe doesn’t recommend sanctions or any prosecution.

Post your thoughts and comments about this blog post.

Based on this report and Palin's association with seperatists groups I think Palin should resign or stand for impeachment in Alaska. She should also resign immediately from the republican ticket we don't need Gonzales II

Stephen Branchflower, a retired prosecutor hired to conduct the investigation, said Monegan's firing was lawful. But the pressure Palin and her husband put on him, he said, was not.

These people serve at the pleasure of the governor, also he wasn't fired because Palin offered him a different job in another department that he refused.
The personal gain part is laughable they wanted a loose cannon removed from the force. Compare that to using your perceived influence to get help with a house you can't afford. As if Tony Rezko bought that lot as a hot investment property. laugh.gif
