We’re staying

Come now. Was there ever any doubt?

The United States on Tuesday rejected a demand from Iraq for a specific date for pullout of US-led foreign troops from the country, saying any withdrawal will be based on conditions on the ground. “The US government and the government of Iraq are in agreement that we, the US government, we want to withdraw, we will withdraw. However, that decision will be conditions-based,” State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said.

In other words - all your Iraqi sovereignty belong to us.

Nope. I think under an Obama presidency, we still stay - possibly with fewer troops.

This was in the cards all along - as the print edition will point out this week, getting into Iraq and staying in Iraq was the entire point of the invasion in the first place.

Wasn't this the point of linking Iraq and N. Korea together (w/Iran) as the great AXIS OF EVIL.

McCain flipflops first he said if a democratically elected government of Iraq asked up to leave we would leave, that was then now we will stay regardless of what the duely elected government of Iraq wants becuase we want to stay.

Um ... except that is now OBAMA'S position too! Whatever happened to the "out of Iraq in six weeks" campaign promise??? Suddenly he has taken HILLARY'S position -- i.e. sanity. Yeah. But we can't have a WOMAN as president, by God!

For the last year and a half, Obama has consistently proposed a 16-month timeline for a staged withdrawal of forces from Iraq. McCain is against any timeline.

As usual, the demmies did not pay attention to the details. Obama said he would remove all 'combat' troops. Not all the troops. He claims he will leave support troops and 'strike' brigades in Iraq. You all have been suckered!! laugh.gif
