We distort, you deride

Hilarious. So Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committee member Fred Hobbs tells the Nashville City Paper that for all he knows, Barack Obama is “terrorist connected.” But then he apologizes to the committee, saying he should have been better-prepared.

Just where did he get his initial impression?

Guess.

I was not as well prepared as I should have been when speaking with reporters, and I should have taken more time to research Senator Obama’s positions. My comments did reflect questions I had after what I had seen reported on Fox News, but I should have taken some time to check the accuracy of what I saw on television before speaking publicly.

Fair and balanced, baby.

There you go again, LeftNut....I watched the trailer on MediaMatters, which was no more of a tease than your employer does with the headlines of some articles. I think your paranoia at all things Fox is becoming almost hysterical in nature, and the standard you appear to expect Fox to follow would be head-and-shoulders above all other television outlets.

Then again, if you scream "see, see, see....what Fox does..." long enough and loud enough, some may buy it. Fact is, all media outlets play this sort of game much to the detriment of the country. Your own blog, story and report headlines may well employ such technique

All in all, I think Fred Hobbs opened his mouth and inserted his foot, and then needed a convenient way to deflect the criticism he should have taken for his own gaffe.

We can't blame the Democrat from Tennesse. Nor can he accept responsiblity. Who can we blame? Why Fox News of course.

Rather childish, isn't it?

What's hysterical is Fox's paranoia at all things Obama & democat in general

They scream he's a terrorist, a secret muslim, he doesn't wear a flag pin and won't
salute the flag. When in fact NONE of this is true. They continue to rely upon slanderous and salacious tall tales. It's so pathetic and desparate, it's laughable.

Sorry you can't see the humor in it laugh.gif

Hm. Are you saying Fox News hasn't made an explicit attempt in recent weeks to link Barack Obama to terrorism?

Why,

where

would

anyone

get

that

idea?

Right...Fox is now paranoid about Obama...ok....who told ya that, Keith "All the truth , all the time" Olbermann?

The only thing hysterical is the absolute fear in which you all live your lives over Fox News. Why not watch it for yourselves instead of taking the offings of some blog site who delights in "Fox bashing" ?
Face it....they are rated # 5 in ALL cable news networks....MSNBC.....uh, try # 27- guess there are a whole lot of us vulnerable Fox lemmings out there who are caught up in the hilarity!

Senator McCain had no problem going on The Factor...Senator Clinton did the same, and frankly earned my respect for her appearance there.

Obama.....not to be seen there....what is he afraid of??? Just wondering out loud.

I am a regular Fox news watcher, and frankly cannot recall hearing ANY screaming about Obama in the manner you suggest.

If Fox is so paranoid about everything Democrat in general, why do they retain folks like Alan Colmes, Bob Beckel, Kirsten Powers, Greta Van Sustren, Ellis Hennican.....I could go on.

Again...maybe try watching for yourself...I learn alot about the Left point of view from those I just mentioned...right there on ol' Lib Hater Fox!!!

What I'm saying is that you excused or just ignored the conduct of poor Democrat.

But what you seem to be implying is that - here Fox has undertaken a rather blatant and pretty comprehensive campaign to paint Obama as a terrorist, and here we have a guy saying, It worked!

Bad conduct indeed - he could have avoided all this by avoiding Fox News in the first place!

OK. We have a rather well-placed Democrat politician who watches Fox News and is douped into believing that Obama is a terrorist.

Then we have me, who also watches Fox News, and I have no belief that Obama is a terrorist.

You may not believe Obama is a terrorist, but Fox is obviously and not-so-subtly pushing the line; and we'll hear it dozens of additional times between now and November. So it becomes a convenient excuse for this Tennessee idiot; but in fact Fox is doing this specifically to create this impression.

So why is Fox doing this?

I hear what you're saying. But I think it's a stretch to say Fox is painting Obama as a terrorist. The concept of Obama being a terrorist is just absurd. Rather, he's soft on terrorism, or sympathetic to people we may associate with terrorism.

Why are they doing it? They're catering to a demographic that's interested in that perspective. The same that Olbermann does every night. Of course, they could be a bit more discreet.

Please carefully consider this:

Why would any "unbiased" news organization need to remind its listeners time and time and time again that it is "fair and balanced"?

ANY national news organization has an obligation to its readers, listeners, or viewers to be "fair and balanced". This is what We The People expect from them.

There MUST be a good reason why only one specific news organization repeatedly goes out of its way to try to convince its listeners that it is "fair and balanced".

I have watched Fox news and it isn't news. It's Infotainment. Not only do they engage in drawing Obama as a terrorist, but their news on other subjects (non-political) is so incredibly dramatic it's ridiculous. It's like they're actors out of a soap opera that's been cancelled. Infotainment. That's all it is. It isn't news and it isn't fair and balanced. The fact that they are rated #5, if that is a fact, just shows the mindset of the people who do watch it. They're not interested in news. I suspect it is mostly being watched by men who are really only interested in seeing the non self-respecting women talking heads with their low cleavage line and their high hems.

Does anyone know the difference between news, and a news/opinion show? One reason they say "fair and balanced" is because their opinion shows pack themselves with lefties and righties.

Anyone notice how these newscasters bounce from network to network? How can they be so slanted on one channel, and not the next?

After watching Fox News what do you believe Obama is? A patriot? A man with religious values? Someone who loves America?

No, I haven't, because I can't stand to watch any of them. Would you please provide me with some examples, I would love to Google some of them and see what they REALLY stand for.

I was being fecetious. Someone like bill hemmer, who is a news reporter for fox news. Anything he says or does will be slandered because of where he works, but while he was at cnn he was ok.

to date there is no evidence of Obama being linked to terrorism...unless of course you include Bill Ayers. In any event, absense of evidence does not equal evidence of absense.

Fox is racist? Gil do you work with any other writer or editor at any of the LNP papers that is black or hispanic?

Does that make LNP racist?

See elitest Democrats love black people. They Love them to come out every election and vote for their candidates. Their seems to be either racial discrimination at his own newspaper or their are no qualified black or hispanic writers in Lancaster.

If Gil was truly concerned about discrimination he would report about his employer.

But Fox is an easy target. ABC, CBS, NBC and on and on can be liberal. But let one media outlet be conservative and the libs go crazy.

How many writers or editors at LNP are of color? No paperboys don't count.

Not Becky, just new to talkback.

Glad to see their is a forum to question the hypocracy of the Sunday News.

I'm all for Gil speaking his mind. But don't call Fox racist when the rest of the media is a 24/7 infomercial on Obama.

It cracks me up to see a old white newspaper with a far left Lib editor railing on Fox when he surrounded by the real problem. Institutional Racism.

He must be scared about losing his job.

Sorry not Cindy.

It's the only game in town{print}

Gil love to ride Fox about one sided journalism but his paper does the same thing except it has no competition.

Fox is conservative. The rest are liberal leaning. Calling Obama a terrorist is wrong. Calling out his lack of experience and his wacky ideas with talking to terrorist is fair game. Would I condemn CBS for Dan Rathers made up story on Bush. No.

And exactly who said on Fox news that Obama is terrorist connected? Name Date, Time. So far all we are told by Gil is that a democrat heard it said on Fox. but why would Gil follow up on the details.
