MSNBC NOTCHES DEMO WIN OVER FNC IN PRIMETIME "Countdown" Out-Rates the "Factor" for First Time Ever

NEW YORK - June 10, 2008 - MSNBC continued its ratings surge last week, with viewers flocking out of the "No Spin Zone" and to "The Place for Politics." For the first time ever, MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" was the #1 show at 8 p.m., out-drawing Fox News's "O'Reilly Factor" head-to-head among Adults 25-54. This is the first time since June 2001 that MSNBC has out-rated "The O'Reilly Factor" at 8 p.m.

Excluding Tuesday's primary coverage, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" averaged 477,000 A25-54 vs. 472,000 for the "Factor."

First of all.......the fist touch or jab is sooooooo lame! I don't mind seeing athletes do it as that is where it originated, but it looks foolish when people like Michelle Obama and Joe Lieberman are doing it. Michelle looked like a fool doing that. You know it's not cool when people like that are doing it......time to create some other new trend...it looks dated. I don't understand the "terrorist" comment by Fox. It made no sense to me and sounded unnecessary but in no way was she calling the Obama's terrorrists.......she was indicating that the fist jab is percieved differently by different folks.

I ignore the Fox News critics. When you have over the top people like Keith Olberman on the air at MNBC (and they let him cover legit news events, like elections as well as his typical rant fests) then no one has room to be critical. Chris Matthews is biased as well, just not as nutty as Olbermann. CNN has some staff that are not objective as well...they have some Australian whack job in Iraq reporting only the bad events, totally unwilling to give a positive report, even if it is the news.

Gil, I thought blogging was supposed to incorporate some of your original thoughts and ideas? Providing only a link to a story is a cop out.
