Two strands

About right:
The fact is: the worst elements of American conservatism took hold under Bush and the better angels surrendered. You can find in the Reagan era two strands. The first is smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation, strong, pragmatic defense, judicial restraint, individual freedom, personal responsibility. The second is executive over-reach, fiscal irresponsibility, impulsive interventionism, religious extremism, moral meddling, and, in the end, bigger government.
Strikes me that even here in Lancaster County, some have gotten the message. Drove through the New Danville area a few times last week and was startled by all the Ron Paul signs.

Yes. I believe a four-way race is inevitable: Obama, McCain, Paul, and Nader. for the democratic process to be absolutely fair, they should all be allowed into the debates this fall. This will likely not happen.
In fact, the media has just about stifled the existence of Paul and Nader by continually subliminally and directly suggesting that there will be only two candidates come fall. I mean, where do they live that they don't drive past any Ron Paul signs? Gotta give the man credit on one thing, knows how to cultivate some serious sign-putter-uppers.

I swear they must be elves, I've never actually seen a sign-putter-upper, but sure enough those things are everywhere. I was driving through Allegheny National Forest the other day, right in the middle of the forest on a dirt road...probably like five cars go past that point in a week...sure enough, a Ron Paul sign. Its like magic.
