Obama responds

I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know. Part of me gets a sense Wright is just milking his 15 minutes - maybe sticking a knife in Obama, to the extent Obama was forced, politically, to condemn the earlier statements. Yeah, I’m outrageous? Chew on this, bub.
And in the video, here, Obama clearly sounds stunned. He sounds as if he knows this has hurt; politically, but also to the extent that it’s been a distraction, and that his whole campaign is centered around the idea that these distractions take our collective eye off the ball. And he knows that’s what’s happening here.
Sullivan thinks Wright’s done Obama a favor here. I don’t know; maybe. Maybe this is where the black politician strikes down the charicature. Obama said what he had to say; will be interesting to see how the public at large responds.

dragonrider 4/29/08 6:58 PM | I read one report that Wrights handler for these events also works for Hillary's campaign |
Purkle 4/29/08 9:58 PM | These are Obama's own words in Philadelphia;
"I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. '
Today, he disowns Wright. Tomorrow, will he disown the black community?
Sorry, Obama isn't for change, he's just more of the same, only worse. He is immature, elitist, politically niave, unvetted, untried and not ready to lead his own life, let alone an entire country.
I fell for it all back at the 2004 convention, my family and I talked about how that man would be president some day. The thing is, Jan 20, 2009 is not that day.

That's it! It has to be It! That evil witch Hillary is behind this. She sat in the pew behind Obama for twenty years with her fingers in his ears so he couldn't hear Wright's sermons.

Yes, we should all just shut up & put up with the status quo and not make any waves. Wouldn't want any of us peasants making the ruling elite uncomfortable now, would we?

I think maybe you missed the joke. You know, the whereabouts of Bill's fingers, Obama's wife being happy. Get it? |
