Smucker in a rout

Don’t see anyone else reporting this here on LOL, so let me do the honors:
With 32 percent of districts reporting, Smucker is crushing the competition, with 2627 to Paul Thibault’s 1292; Steve McDonald with 1071. All subject to change - but I’m not sure anyone expected Smucker by this much, if it holds.
Update: Now with 46 percent in, Smucker 3601, Thibault 1874.
Update 2: 64 percent in, Smucker retaining his lead - 5050 to Thibault’s 2549, McDonald at 2268.

Word has it that some young buck, fully equiped with cheap hair gel was heard to be attempting a bribe to a campaign manager for Neff to remove his LARGE campaign truck and he would be paid if he would go out and support SMUCKER!!!
Word on the street also has it that when this offer was refused, a call was made and shortly after some rent-a-cop was making Neff's van move so far out of site that they eventually left.
Word on the street also has it that this same metro sexual male was engaging in "loud" whispers slandering the Neff candidate with more of the Smucker Shuffle lying.....loud enough for voters to hear.
And word on the street has it that Mr. Gel Head got put in his place by the driver of Neff's van when he was mistaken as a voter standing outside reading paul Thibaults campaign material.
Speaking with others at the polls I also understand that many sings put into place by neffs crew were removed in the early morning hours after the Smucker tean hit the streets in total darkness. Neff's crew had canvased the 13th and hung up their hats sometime around 2:00 a.m according to one of their supporters...only to wake up this moring and finding their sgns removed and SMUCKERS in their place....gee how did that happen???!!!???!!!???!!!???
one political insider expressed that the Smucker team launched around 3:00 a.m.....you figure out the rest they continued to say.....
Totally disgraceful....if accurate...and they sure didn't look like they were lying.

Nativeson 4/22/08 10:47 PM | Was it ever covered in LNP that Smucker signs along Rt.501 were placed just inches from and in some cases on either side of McDonald signs, making it impossible to read them? Same guy? |

Bottom line is that Steve McDonald gave him a run for the money. I knew that he would fare better than most thought...................way to go, brother!!!!!!!!!!

A tip of the hat to Mr. McDonald, you are right. He did have good coverage with his signage when you could see them being hidden by Smuckers.
Run for the money huh? Good point...I would like to see just what the realtionship is between the expenses these candidates used to campaign and the actual cost to obtain a vote based on the number of voters "turned out" and the percentage of each had.
Just a thought! It would be interesting to see just who won the race based on cost per vote.

Artie See 4/23/08 5:54 AM | I'm thankful that Thibault lost. He even lost to Steve McDonald.
It looks like Gib Armstrong will be replaced with a Gib Armstrong clone. |

Here is what I can see based on what was reported to the Commonwealth and the total number of votes per candidate. This number represents the actual cost per vote excluding all expenditures:
Lloyd Smucker $19.71
Steve McDonald $12.64
Paul Thibault $ 1.76
Bill Neff $ .49
Obviously Bill Neff wins by a landslide. He took no contributions from anyone. So, looks like it would be Paul Thibault if you are comparing apples to apples.........There you have it folks!!!
