Pittsburgh boy

Heh. Stumbled across this from one Dominic Ierace, good Pittsburgh boy (Ellwood City, actually) who went by Donnie Iris, and cranked this one out circa 1980. Video looks like it cost about 50 bucks to shoot, if that.

Good song, well done, but zero stage presence.

I hope he made enough money to get his teeth fixed. lol_thumbsdown.gif

No way, bud. Western Pennsylvania is as Western Pennsylvania does.

I've got an earworm, thanks to you, Gil--the other big Donnie Ah-ris hit "Love Is Like a Rock"--brings back ancient memories of listening to WDVE back in the 'Burgh!

I grew up near Elwood City, Went to grade school in Koppel just across the river from Elwood City, My Fathers folks were original settlers in Big Beaver on a George Washington land grant were dairy and fruit farmers. There are quite a few Amish in that area just like here but mostly the area is Polish and Italian.

I grew up in Big Beaver, in Beaver County, near Beaver Falls, and Beaver along the Beaver River Sure are a lot of beavers in that area. LOL

Had a roommate freshman year from Ellwood City. Another guy I lived with that year had the last name of Sroka. Got to be buds with a guy at school with the last name of Brletic. Lot of great people, significantly fewer vowels in western Pennsylvania.

Remember them catholic church fundraisers with the homemade pieroggis

The names you look at them and try to figure out how to pronounce it all in vain two dozen letters with only one vowel.

Every wedding I went to had an accordian playing Polka band.
