Co-worker just mentioned this and it jogged my memory:
Driving up to Lititz on Sunday to see some friends who have a new baby, I passed a house right along 501 before you get into the downtown with a sign in the front yard:
Thank you, President Bush.
I started to laugh.
I don’t recall this, but maybe someone else out there does: Did people have similar signs up in their yards, circa 1980, thanking President Carter?

The character assasinations and divisiveness that characterize every election has finally turned me off. I finally understand why turn out for american elections is so low compared to the rest of the world. |

One politician gets characterized as loopy becuase he says once in his life he saw a UFO another gets a free ride for saying he believes the earth was created in 7 days a few thousand years ago. The republican party vie for who can be the most hateful against hispanics and gays with a free pass. National security is reduced to a ringing phone every 4 years while admisitration after admistration entangles us in wars democrat and republican. President after President unable to keep their pants zipped up. All the while we fall behind europe in quality of life. |
