So there’s a report of a nuclear power plant in Arizona where a contract worker has been detained with an explosive device in his truck and OMG what it it’s terrorism and maybe he’s an Arab and WTF here we go again oh please sweet Jeebus is it TERRORISM? HUH?!?!? IS IT AL QAEDA???
These things happen, and we as a nation clench our collective posterior. The media reports it breathlessly; THIS COULD BE MORE TERRORISM.
Yeah. You know what? It could be.
It could be, and as we go along, there’s going to be some terrorism. Some attempted attacks; our national midset seems to be that this is all new and extremely frightening; but it isn’t new, and we justify being terrified to the degree we are only because of 9/11.
Well, it’s a big “only,” sure. But are we all really going to spend the rest of our lives clenching up like this? Are we really going to be this terrorized, this terrified?
If so, then the terrorists really have won, haven’t they?
