The eighth-annual Miles in Memory of Josh bike ride will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, on the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail, near Mount Gretna.
Riders can do between one and 10 miles on the trail. Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. The ride begins at 1 p.m. Organizers are asking for a minimum $10 donation per adult rider.
Proceeds from the ride will benefit the Joshua Montpetit Foundation, which provides grants to Warwick High School Students.
The ride is slated for what would have been Montpetit’s 30th birthday. He died of complications from a congenital heart condition in 2001, at age 22.
There will be rest stops along the trail with refreshments. Lunch is provided at the end of the ride.
Riders are asked to pre-register by calling organizer Krista Jenkins at 940-2831.
Anyone unable to participate in the event but interested in contributing to the scholarship fund may send checks made payable to the Joshua Montpetit Foundation to Lisa Shirk, 2335 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster PA 17601.
