Registration has opened for the 2009 Pedal to Preserve ride. The fund-raising event for the Lancaster Farmland Trust will be held Saturday, June. There will be six-mile, 20-mile and 51-mile rides.
More than 1,000 riders are expected to participate. Last year, more than $56,000 was raised for the preservation of Lancaster County farmland. The cost to register is $25 in advance, on Active.com, or $35 on the day of the ride. Children 12 and younger ride for free with a registered adult. People who register before May 4 get a free T-shirt.
Due to construction at the usual start location of the ride, Garden Spot High School, this year’s ride will begin at the Garden Spot Village retirement community in New Holland. More information is available at: www.lancasterfarmlandtrust.org/news/events.html
