bicyclist.jpgLong dismissed as a child’s toy by traffic planners, the humble bicycle is beginning to get the attention of local municipal officials. More people are dusting off old bikes for commuting or errands to avoid the high price of gasoline. Officials in Lancaster County’s city, towns and townships have taken notice and want to encourage riding. The Intelligencer Journal has an article today that references multi-municipal planning being done in the northwest part of the county and a round-up of cycling-related initiatives being done elsewhere.
