A gang of young males pushed a Lancaster man off his bicycle, roughed him up, and then robbed him on East Fulton Street on Monday, Memorial Day, the Lancaster New Era reported.
According to Lancaster City police, the 33-year-old victim had several injuries, including scrapes and abrasions to both elbows, soreness to the face, and a back injury from the evening robbery, police said.
The man told police he was riding his bike when a group of five males, approximately 15-to-18 years old, confronted him shortly before 6:15 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of East Fulton Street.
One of the males pushed the man off his bicycle while the others assaulted him. The group fled after taking the bike rider’s cell phone and his wallet which contained about $16 cash and personal cards. The total loss was about $100.
The victim told police that all the suspects wore do-rags and baseball caps. Two wore red T-shirts, one wore a long white T-shirt, and two wore no shirts, the victim said. All were wearing either jeans or long shorts, he said.
