The April fools

April 1st, 2008 12:00 pm · 0 comments

Cyclingnews, which always has a few interesting and inventive articles on April 1, today posted a piece in which the organizers of the Tour de France are taking a cue from Indiana University’s annual Little 500 bicycle race - of the movie “Breaking Away” fame - to spice up the three week race.

ASO will look at adding a relay team time trail, in which four riders from each team pedal a section of the stage and do a running bike change. The article is here.

And Velonews has an article today about Connie Carpenter and Davis Phinney capitalizing on the success of their 17-year-old phenom son, Taylor, by starting an egg and sperm bank in which - for a cool $1 million - you can get your own test-tube champion-to-be.
