Pittsburgh-native Mike Friedman is paying tribute to the Keystone State this week while racing in Belgium.
Ignoring the additional grams and the wind resistance, Friedman’s bike is sporting a miniature Pennsylvania license plate behind the seat. The plate, shown in this photo from the team Slipstream website, sports his nickname “meatball.”
Below, Friedman took 12th on Saturday on the cobbles of Saturday’s Hek Volk race. The American team is doing one-day classics as it gears up for the Paris-Nice race on Sunday. Friedman, 27, is on the team’s Girona, Spain-based squad.
