Ridgeway coming through Tuesday

Lancaster bicyclist Mike Ridgeway is expected to ride through southern Lancaster County Tuesday morning as he and his Central Pennsylvania-based TeamEndeavor near the finish line.

RAAM startRidgeway, founder of the Dream Ride Projects bicycling advocacy organization, is part of a four-man team doing the cross country Race Across America. They started in Oceanside, Calif. on June 12.

This morning, the team was in Circleville, Ohio at 6:48 a.m. At that point, they have 593 miles left in the race and have already completed 2,450 after five and a half days of pedaling. The team, which is taking half-hour pulls, has averaged 18.36 mph since the start.

At that pace, they are expected to reach Time Station 54 in Georgetown, in the Southern End, on Tuesday, at about 9 a.m. The time station is located at the Whitelock & Woerth fuel oil dealership, on Route 896, 1220 Georgetown Road, in Bart Township.

From there, they have 110 more miles to the finish line on the boardwalk of Atlantic City, N.J. TeamEndeavor is expected to arrive there about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
