Local bicyclistMike Ridgeway’s TeamEndeavor was in seventh-place in their division Wednesday morning as members of the four-man team pedaled across the southwest in their second day of the Race Across America.
TeamEndeavor, led by Ray Peske of Dauphin County, was averaging 19.79 miles per hour this morning as it crossed Time station 5 in Hope, Arizona, nearly 282 miles into the cross-country race. The leading four-man team, Beaver Creek - Catlin Team, was 60 miles ahead, averaging a staggering 23.16 mph.
At its current pace, TeamEndeavor is expected to reach Time Station 54, in Georgetown, southern Lancaster County, on Monday, at 8:28 p.m. There, Ridgeway hopes to be in the saddle for this team. He will likely be cheered on by members of his Dream Ride Project’s Cycle Smart team. Ridgeway, the Dream Ride Projects founder, has coordinated the Georgetown Time Station for several years.
