That is the online registration site for the Strasburg road race. Registration opened on Wednesday for the first local race of the new season. By Monday morning, when I looked, both the Cat 5 field and the Cat 5 waiting list were already full. On Tuesday morning, the Elite men and professional categories had also been closed. The race is still nearly a month away.
There is even one rider already registered for Red Rose Races’ 40k time trial on April 15 - nearly two months away.
And, of course, all this comes as there is still ice on the roads. I’ve got the bruises to prove it. I took a spill Monday at the end of a two-hour ride. The temperatures over the next few days should bring a big melt-off. I’m looking forward to it.
