Release from the Eagles:
“The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have placed T/G Shawn Andrews on the Injured Reserve list with a back injury. Andrews did not play in any of the four preseason games or the season opener at Carolina last Sunday due to the injury. With the addition of QB Jeff Garcia last night, the Eagles roster now stands at 53 players.
Said head coach Andy Reid, “It’s disappointing to lose any player for the entire season, but we have full confidence in the other lineman we have on this roster to help this team succeed. We wish Shawn all the best as he recovers and rehabilitates from this injury.”
