Generally speaking…

I’m down with the Barnstormers, who if nothing else get me out of the office on Saturday nights. It’s an excellent ballpark in a nice downtown location, and it seems like a well-run, quality organization.

But this is their fifth year and they’ve had exactly one winning half-season. It’s taken nearly three and-a-half hours tonight to play six and-a-half innings even though the teams have just six hits apiece, and we’ve just endured a bizarre seven-minute choral rendition of ”God Bless America” that had me almost literally crawling the press-box walls, and I wasn’t the only one.

People keep showing up, though, God love ‘em. I hate to say this, but I’m starting to wonder why.

Fireworks. They just started.

Oh, and desperation. Remember the Convention Center? It's potential for success is based, to a large degree in the public mind, on the Barnstormers' potential for success. wink.gif

Sounds like a potential '404' down the road.

I remember that the LCCCA had let most of their domains expire for a while.

"LancasterCountyConventionCenter.com" was allowed to expire about a year and a half after the LCCCA sued to get it back (which they did ONLY when they agreed to allow public comment at public meetings), and fell into the hands of a squatter from Korea who had hoped to make a BIG profit from it; instead, it sat empty for two years, until even the squatter dropped it. Some months later, someone else picked it up...

When was that screen shot taken?

Enough with the fireworks! July 4th I can see, but...

These games are BORING. But that is modern baseball. Do they really have to change pitchers 8 times a game?
