Re the Orlando-Boston series: Kevin Garnett gets hurt and the entire population of New England goes into emergency management mode and there’s media coverage of how he looked tying his shoes at the shootaround the other day, and nobody mentions that fact that Orlando has played without an all-star point guard for four months?
Watching/listening to/reading the sports punditocracy today, there’s been endless analysis of why the Magic can’t get the ball where it needs to go at crunch time. Blame gets placed on Dwight Howard for not demanding the ball, and Stan Van Gundy for not calling Howard’s number and the Magic guards for being clueless and I’m not saying any of that is wrong, but don’t you think once in a while, somebody could throw it out there that Orlando’s playing without an all-star point guard?
There he is, in street clothes, whenever they show the Orlando bench. Nobody says the words: Jameer Nelson.
It’s likeĀ a Twilight Zone episode.
